Services Hospital Upgrade: CM Inaugurates Modernized Blocks

In a notable achievement, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s steadfast dedication to serving humanity has brought about a remarkable transformation at Services Hospital within an impressive span of just 4 and a half months.
 
On Monday, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the upgraded surgical, medical, and administrative blocks of Services Hospital. During his visit, he meticulously inspected the modernized wards, expressing satisfaction at the provision of contemporary medical equipment and beds. Additionally, he took the time to visit nursing counters and doctors’ rooms, issuing directives for the swift operationalization of all operation theaters and stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the upgraded blocks.
 

Modernization Efforts and Inspection

Furthermore, the CM unveiled a digital data storage system for patient records, marking a significant stride toward modernizing healthcare services. He commended the high quality of the hospital’s upgrades. The Secretary of Communication and Works provided a detailed overview of the upgrade work, while the Secretary of Health highlighted the enhanced treatment facilities in the renovated blocks.
 
Mohsin Naqvi also emphasized the urgency of completing the new lab and diagnostic center at Services Hospital, providing specific instructions to the Principal of SIMS (Services Institute of Medical Sciences).
 
During his media interaction following the inauguration, Mohsin Naqvi recalled his visit to Services Hospital six months prior, expressing his dismay at the dire condition of the facility at that time. He lauded the rapid transformation of Services Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility within 4 and a half months. The ongoing upgrade spans an area of 3 lakh 11 thousand square feet, including the addition of 24 new, state-of-the-art operation theaters in the 1600-bed hospital.
 
Mohsin Naqvi extended his appreciation to Provincial Minister Mansoor Qadir, Secretary of Communication and Works, and the Health Department for their hard work. He specifically commended Mansoor Qadir’s dedication, noting his twice-daily visits to Services Hospital. Mohsin Naqvi also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Communication and Works Department to various projects, highlighting the exemplary role of the Secretary of Communication and Works.
 

Prioritizing Healthcare Infrastructure

Addressing recent allegations against the Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Mohsin Naqvi refrained from commenting until the completion of the report. He acknowledged the rising cost of medicines in hospitals but affirmed that the budget remains unchanged, mentioning the possibility of budget revision by the incoming government if necessary. Presently, the Punjab government allocates 50 billion rupees for medicines. Mohsin Naqvi also mentioned the upcoming completion of Lahore Zoo on February 22.
 
Expressing confidence in the future development of the province and country, Mohsin Naqvi reiterated his commitment to supporting his officers during his tenure as Chief Minister. He highlighted efforts to augment the number of nurses and paramedic staff, including language training for nurses. Concluding on an optimistic note, he envisioned a future of exponential development for the province and the country.
 
The event witnessed the presence of Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, Mansoor Qadir, Secretaries of Health and Information, CCPO, Deputy Commissioner, DG PHA, Principal SIMS, MS Services Hospital, Special Secretary of the Health Department, and other relevant officials.
