UCMD hosts an inaugural oath-taking ceremony for first-year students

The inauguration ceremony for first-year students at the University College of Medicine and Dentistry (UCMD), University of Lahore, took place on Tuesday. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayaz from King Edward Medical University graced the event as a special guest. Among the attendees were Principal Professor Dr. Mahwish Aruj, Dean Maghsood A. Baig, Director Dr. Naseer Mahmood, MS Dr. Zahid Parvez, Director of Careerstone School Wajiha Rauf, Dr. Sikander Afzal, Justice Mr. Bilal Khan, Dr. Atif Kazmi, Dr. Munir Saleemi, faculty members, and a large gathering of students with their parents.

During the oath-taking ceremony, Professor Dr. Maghsood A. Baig administered the oath to the incoming medical and dental students of 2024. Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayaz emphasized the unique challenges and privileges of medical education, stressing the significance of serving humanity and acquiring advanced skills, including robotics.

Principal Dr. Mahwish Aruj warmly welcomed the students, highlighting UCMD’s commitment to providing exceptional training with a focus on clinical skills. Dean Professor Dr. Maghsood A. Baig urged students to honor their parents’ sacrifices and maintain discipline throughout their education.

MS Dr. Zahid Parvez concluded the ceremony with gratitude to guests, faculty, and parents, emphasizing the noble calling of medicine. As the balloons soared into the sky, the students embarked on their journey toward serving humanity.
